MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – We need to improve the coordination of foreign policy of Belarus and Russia bearing in mind the interests of the regions, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Konstantin Kosachev told BelTA.
“We coordinate our efforts on a systemic basis. In my opinion, there are no limits to perfection. We can do much more and help the regions of the two countries to develop their international and external economic relations,” Konstantin Kosachev noted.
In this context it is important to make a decision on a common Union State visa, Konstantin Kosachev said.
He also spoke about the elections to the House of Representatives scheduled for 11 September and to the State Duma due on 18 September. “I don’t have the slightest doubt that invitations to monitor elections will be issued timely. The most active election observation will be organized in Russia with the participation of Belarusian observers who will monitor the election both on a bilateral basis and as part of monitoring missions. The same can be said about the forthcoming election in Belarus. This is a normal practice. We actively share experience with each other,” Konstantin Kosachev noted.
