Belarus, Russia sign program of concerted action in foreign policy

MOSCOW, 15 December (BelTA) – Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Russia Sergei Aleinik and Sergey Lavrov signed a program of concerted action in foreign policy following a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Russia in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

For the first time, the parties adopted the document for three years from 2024 to 2026 inclusively. "This will make it possible to more closely correlate this document with other fundamental documents within the framework of the Union State," Sergei Aleinik said.

Sergey Lavrov noted that Belarus and Russia will continue to coordinate approaches to working in international organizations. The Russian side promised to promote contacts between Belarus and associations with which Russia has long established partnerships, in particular, with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

"Within the framework of the program, we also paid significant attention to building up cooperation in humanitarian mater with an emphasis on expanding the scientific, educational, and cultural space of the Union State. We plan to pay special attention to the patriotic education of young people, the preservation of historical memory," the Russian foreign minister said.
