Belarus, Russia agree on gradual resumption of transport communication

MINSK, 1 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have agreed on gradual resumption of transport communication, the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus told BelTA following talks in Moscow.

Taking part in the talks were representatives of sanitary and epidemiological services of Belarus and Russia, as well as Director of the Aviation Department of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus Artem Sikorsky. The press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Belarus informed that the parties came forward with an action plan to resume air travel between the two countries.

Representatives of the two countries agreed to develop an algorithm for a phased resumption of transport communication and for coordination of approaches with the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being (Rospotrebnadzor) and the sanitary and epidemiological service of the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus.

“The Russian side noted that the measures taken by the civil aviation service of Belarus to protect public health are effective and comply with international recommendations and standards,” the ministry emphasized.

The parties also agreed to have another discussion of the issues related to the epidemiological situation and of the ways to  promote comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation.
