MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to take a most active part in the initiatives during Russia’s presidency of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at a session of the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council in Minsk on 12 January, BelTA has learned.
“We believe that the Russian side will take on its responsibilities with zest and will manage to fulfill our joint aspirations for improved, more effective cooperation. I would like to stress that Belarus will take a most active part in the implementation of all the initiatives to be conducted in the CIS,” Vladimir Makei noted.
“We should aim for tangible results,” Vladimir Makei emphasized. He said that partners can always count on support and assistance from the Belarusian side, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The minister pointed out: “Our close constructive cooperation will help us fulfill the tasks that the CIS is facing.”
