Belarus ready for comprehensive cooperation with Russia’s Voronezh Oblast

MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova met with a delegation of Voronezh Oblast, Russia on 13 March, BelTA has learned.

“We know you as good and reliable friends of our country. This is not the first year that we have been cooperating with Voronezh Oblast. Thanks to our presidents setting the tone for our relationship, almost all regions of the Russian Federation are now cooperating with the regions of Belarus. The work of the Federation Council and the Council of the Republic contributes to this, as well. This year we are actively preparing for the 10th Forum of Regions, which is to take place in Ufa. The agreements and contracts that are signed give an impetus to the work between our regions,” Natalya Kochanova said.

Today Voronezh Oblast is in the top 20 Russian regions importing Belarusian products, the speaker said. “We are ready for cooperation in absolutely all the areas. We are currently engaged in the implementation of the Union State programs signed by the presidents of the two countries. We are aimed at a very close and fruitful cooperation with the Russian Federation. These are strategic areas. As you know, the economy develops when there are friendly relations between the states, when people listen to each other. We always stay committed to cooperation with the countries that respect the sovereignty and independence of our countries. That is why for us the Russian Federation is a good and friendly nation with which we cooperate and will continue to do so,” the chairwoman of the Council of the Republic said.

Deputy Chairman of the Voronezh Oblast Government Konstantin Kuznetsov conveyed warm greetings from Governor of Voronezh Oblast Aleksandr Gusev. According to him, Belarus and this Russian region have many areas for cooperation. “First of all, it is the construction sector. There is close cooperation with Belarusian partners. All construction projects implemented by Belarus are conducted ahead of schedule and are of high quality. This, in turn, has a huge impact on improving the quality of life of people - the main characteristic in the work of the leadership of both Voronezh Oblast and the Republic of Belarus,” he added.
