MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – A major government conference involving Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will take place in Q1 2019 to discuss the development of digital economy in the country, BelTA learned from First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin on 25 October. The first deputy prime minister had delivered a report to the head of state earlier that day.
Alexander Turchin stressed that the instruction to prepare the government conference had been given by the head of state. It will be a major conference not in terms of the number of participants, but in terms of the importance of the goals and tasks the country faces due to the forthcoming digitization of the economy. Heads and representatives of various branches of the national economy are expected to take part in the conference.
As Alexander Turchin delivered his report to Alexander Lukashenko, he informed the head of state about what the government had done in this area. The structure of the government was also discussed. According to Alexander Turchin, the government has made some headway into these matters.
The meeting also touched upon the development of the transport and logistics sphere. Documents concerning the development of the private sector were mentioned.
