MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has bestowed an Order of Honor upon Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary, BelTA has learned.
The ceremony took place as the Belarusian head of state met with the heads of the delegations participating in the session of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council on 6 April.
Alexander Lukashenko said: “In every line of work there are people, whose energy and determination to succeed motivate others to accomplish outstanding results. Without a doubt Sergei Nikolayevich Lebedev is such a man.”
The head of state added that Sergei Lebedev’s work as the chairman of the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS executive secretary represented a vivid testimony of the dedication to bolstering interstate relations, preserving and enhancing the potential of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In turn, Sergei Lebedev said: “I grew up in the family of brotherly USSR nations. I remember that atmosphere of friendship and understanding I and most of those present here grew up in. This is why working to preserve friendship and cooperation between our nations is a sacred endeavor for me. I can assure you that I will work tirelessly as long as my fate permits it.”
