Belarus, Pakistan discuss preparation of mutual visits

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa met with Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on 22 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Pakistan.

The parties discussed the current state of Belarusian-Pakistani relations, and also plans for joint actions to prepare and conduct high-level visits to Pakistan.

Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan were established on 3 February 1994. Belarusian-Pakistani relations have significantly intensified since the opening of the Belarusian embassy in Pakistan with residence in Islamabad in November 2014. In 2019, Belarus and Pakistan celebrated 25 years of diplomatic relations. In 2024, Belarus and Pakistan will mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
