MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Lithuania intend to sign an agreement in the sphere of interethnic relations. The idea was discussed during the meeting of Belarus’ Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities Leonid Gulyako, Director of the National Minorities Department in the Lithuanian government Vida Montvydaite, and Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Lithuania in Belarus Irena Usaite on 15 February, representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities told BelTA.
The Lithuanian side was informed about the state policy on interethnic relations in Belarus. Directions of interagency cooperation were determined. The sides reached an agreement on preparing for signing a draft agreement between the Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities of Belarus and the Director of the National Minorities Department in the Lithuanian government.
