MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) - Belarus invites Japan to intensify relations, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Ms Miki Yamada, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the meeting the Belarusian side suggested intensifying bilateral relations and promoting exchanges of high-level visits and business contacts. “The parties discussed the prospects of development of Belarusian-Japanese trade, economic and investment relations, the ways to intensify cultural and humanitarian exchanges and other issues of common interest,” the press service noted.
The diplomats considered the Belarusian-Japanese cooperation in the field of rehabilitation of the population and territories affected by the Chernobyl accident of 1986 and NPP accident at Fukushima-1 of 2011.
Ms Miki Yamada is in Minsk for the international conference, Thirty Years After Chernobyl. From Emergency to Revival and Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Affected Territories.
