Belarus invites Ghana to cooperate in agriculture, industry, medicine

MOSCOW, 27 June (BelTA) – On 26 June Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Russian Federation concurrently accredited to Belarus Lesley Opoku-Ware, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

“The meeting took place following the visit of Lesley Opoku-Ware to Minsk and the presentation of credentials to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The ambassador of Ghana spoke highly of the solemn ceremony and the discussion of key areas of Belarus-Ghana cooperation with the Belarusian head of state. Lesley Opoku-Ware told the Belarusian ambassador about the meetings in Minsk with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik, heads of a number of other ministries and government agencies. The ambassador of Ghana emphasized the productivity of these contacts, as agreements on further action were achieved in the political, trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields,” the press service of the diplomatic mission informed.

“Dmitry Krutoi believes that the priority avenues of cooperation are agriculture, manufacturing, medicine, contacts between government agencies and business communities of Belarus and Ghana. Such contacts will give impetus to trade and economic cooperation,” the diplomatic mission noted.

The ambassador of Belarus invited Lesley Opoku-Ware and the delegation of the Republic of Ghana to visit Belarus’ hallmark cultural events scheduled for July – Kupala Night Festival in Alexandria and the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk festival.

“Dmitry Krutoi and Lesley Opoku-Ware reaffirmed their readiness to consistently strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, to intensify a political dialogue and the exchange of visits at all levels,” the press service added.
