MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) - Belarus wants to invite the European Union to implement infrastructure projects within the framework of the Eastern Partnership initiative, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko told the media during the forum “The European Union and the Eastern Partnership: Approaches to Regional Cooperation” on 11 December, BelTA has learned.
“Our dialogue has reached a new level. The understanding of the Eastern Partnership is changing in Brussels and other European capitals. I therefore hope that in the nearest future we will agree on two or three infrastructure and transport projects between the European Union and Belarus,” said Oleg Kravchenko.
The deputy minister noted that the European side supports the position of Belarus that cooperation in the Eastern Partnership should be pragmatic, the parties must implement the projects which would be understandable and useful to people. “There is the understanding. We just need time to pave the way for these projects,” he added.
