MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha, the ministry’s press service told BelTA.
Sergei Aleinik and Alok Ranjan Jha discussed interaction within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS taking into account the applications for membership in these bodies that Belarus had submitted. Close attention was paid to the advancement of Belarus-India trade, economic, political, and humanitarian interaction.
Concrete joint steps were outlined to enhance bilateral cooperation. Sergei Aleinik and Alok Ranjan Jha welcomed the launch of direct air service between Minsk and Delhi as from 11 August 2023.
