MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko visited Switzerland on 5-6 September, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The diplomat took part in the international conference The Chambesy Roundtable on European Security (the city of Glion sur Montreux). Oleg Kravchenko presented Belarus’ main approaches and initiatives in this sphere, including the broad international dialogue Belarus had initiated to discuss security matters.
Oleg Kravchenko also met with Deputy Secretary of State of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Christina Marty Lang. The sides discussed the main avenues of Belarus-Switzerland cooperation and further steps meant to expand cooperation.
Oleg Kravchenko and Christina Marty Lang met with participants of a Belarusian-Swiss expert seminar on sharing experience in the area of prevention of torture and inhumane treatment. The seminar took place in Bern and Geneva in line with the arrangement to advance the dialogue on human rights. The arrangement was made during consultations between representatives of the foreign policy agencies of Belarus and Switzerland in December 2018.
