MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with new UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki on 21 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vladimir Makei congratulated Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki on her new appointment to Minsk and wished every success in her mission in Belarus.
The parties discussed the development of Belarus’ cooperation with the UN agencies, outlined priority areas in joint work.
Working in UNDP Headquarters since 2010, first as Division Chief for Western CIS and the Caucasus and lately as the Head of Country Office Liaison and Oversight unit of UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS in New York, Ms Kazana-Wisniowiecki was responsible for cooperation with UN Member States through their Permanent Missions to the UN and supporting management and oversight of eighteen UNDP Country Offices across Europe and CIS region. Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki is Polish, has a Master’s Degree in Economics and International Relations from the Warsaw School of Economics.
