MOSCOW, 17 May (BelTA) – The schedule of Belarus-Egypt contacts at the highest level has been discussed at a meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ihab Nasr, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Russia with concurrent accreditation in Belarus. The meeting took place in Moscow on 17 May, BelTA has learnt from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
“The parties discussed ways to step up Belarus-Egypt cooperation, expand the legal framework of the bilateral relations, as well as the schedule of contacts at the highest level,” the press service noted.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Egypt were established on 1 February 1992. In 2017, the bilateral trade was estimated at $97.4 million, with Belarus’ export standing at $76.1 million.
