Belarus, Dominican Republic discuss visa waiver agreement

MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik held a meeting with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to Belarus Frank Hans Dannenberg Castellanos on 30 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed steps to expand and deepen Belarusian-Dominican cooperation in the political, trade and economic sectors, including industry and agriculture. Another topic for discussion was to maximize the potential of cooperation in tourism, education and information technology.

Special attention was paid to the development of the legal framework, in particular, the preparation to sign an intergovernmental agreement on visa-free entry.

“The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs highly appreciated the ambassador’s efforts to bring together the interests of both states and wished him success in his future diplomatic career,” the press service noted.
