Belarus, Cuba to foster ties in science, education

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ National Academy of Sciences will develop cooperation with research and educational organizations of Cuba, the press service of the National Academy of Sciences told BelTA following the visit of a delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba.

The Cuban delegation met with Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov to discuss the current state of cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences and scientific and educational organizations of Cuba and ways to promote cooperation, including training highly qualified personnel, mutual visits to exchange experience and lectures.

The guests toured the exhibition "From national science to manufacturing sector” featuring the latest developments by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Following the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) of Cuba; and a framework agreement on scientific cooperation between the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences and the University of Havana.
