Belarus, Cuba committed to deepening military cooperation

MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Cuba are committed to deepening military cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

The visit of the Belarusian military delegation to the Republic of Cuba continues. During the visit, the head of the Belarusian military delegation, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense Viktor Gulevich held talks with Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Republic of Cuba, Army Corps General Alvaro López Miera and Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Roberto Legra Sotolongo.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on ways of deepening of mutually beneficial areas of military cooperation. They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Belarusian-Cuban partnership.

During the official visit to the Republic of Cuba, the head of the Belarusian military delegation took part a ceremony to lay flowers at the Memorial to the Soviet Internationalist Soldier. The memorial was unveiled on 23 February 1978 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the USSR.
