Belarus, China continue advancing cooperation in security

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong in Minsk on 23 August, BelTA has learned.

During the meeting Aleksandr Volfovich and Xie Xiaoyong exchanged opinions about Belarus-China interaction in the sphere of security and determined the scope of work for the near future.

It was noted that after the recent visit of Chinese Defense Minister, Colonel-General Li Shangfu to Belarus cooperation in defense acquired a new trend in favor of deepening and expanding in a broad spectrum of areas.

Apart from that, Aleksandr Volfovich and Xie Xiaoyong discussed the current state of affairs in international security and regional security. The adherence to the policy of further advancement of exemplary relations of all-weather and all-around strategic partnership was reaffirmed as well as the adherence to strengthening contacts and the promotion of joint projects in the sphere of security.
