MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Belarus calls for making quality decisions in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the session of the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council on 12 January, BelTA has learned.
“Documents submitted to heads of state or heads of government should be about economic efficiency, return on investment. These requirements will help unload the agendas of the relevant CIS agencies and make the decision-making more efficient,” said the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Vladimir Makei added that the coordinating role of the CIS bodies needs to be strengthened. “Some of them have existed for decades without bringing in any tangible results. It is them who are responsible for the implementation of political decisions. It is the results of this work that form the image of the CIS among citizens, organizations, businesses, states,” Vladimir Makei said.
