MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – Belarus supports the intensification of the CIS activity in the fight against corruption, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council meeting on 12 December, BelTA has learned.
"The decision of the CIS Heads of State Council to approve the concept of cooperation of the CIS member states in countering corruption should be considered as a matter of national security. I have talked to the leaders of the relevant sectoral structures in Belarus. They all praised the activities of the relevant CIS structures and believe that they should be continued and intensified in all the areas,” Vladimir Makei said.
The minister stressed that security issues and military-technical cooperation take an important place in the CIS activity. In 2017, the heads of state approved the main directions for the adaptation of the integrated air defense system to addressing the tasks of aerospace defense, adopted the concept of cooperation against the legalization of funds obtained by criminal means, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
