MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) - Minsk hosted political consultations between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Bangladesh on 30 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas. The delegation of Bangladesh was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamrul Ahsan. The parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda, current status and prospects for further development of Belarus-Bangladesh cooperation, including exchange of high-level visits and steps to expand th ebilateral legal framework.
Special attention was paid to the ways of developing trade, economic and investment cooperation, bolstering humanitarian ties, including the export of Belarusian machinery and educational services to Bangladesh. The parties exchanged views on the interaction between the two countries in the United Nations.
The head of the Bangladesh delegation was received by Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. The parties called for intensification of the entire range of bilateral relations, strengthening of their institutional mechanisms. Vladimir Makei and Kamrul Ahsan also expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Belarus and Bangladesh in international organizations , including the UN. The parties also reviewed the implementation of the key joint projects in trade, economy and humanitarian affairs and outlined a number of priority steps to promote their implementation.
