MINSK, 5 May (BelTA) – Belarus Deputy Culture Minister Vasily Chernik met with senior officials of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan on 5 May, BelTA learned from the Culture Ministry of Belarus.
Vasily Chernik is in Baku attending the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to step up the bilateral cultural cooperation and to facilitate the development of investment cooperation in culture. The sides also considered opportunities for participation of Belarusian art groups in festivals in Azerbaijan, enrollment of Azerbaijani students in Belarusian art schools, and support for theaters, museums, and art groups. Belarus’ initiative to organize a tour of Belarusian artists in Azerbaijan was supported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue is taking place in Baku on 5 and 6 May. It is a traditional annual event. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan in cooperation with UNESCO, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, UNWTO, FAO, the Council of Europe and ISESCO. The program of the forum features meetings of culture and tourism ministers of different countries, representatives of international organizations operating in the financial, economic, political, cultural and social areas.
