MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Argentina intend to form a full-fledged legal framework at the parliamentary level, Vitaly Busko, Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, told BelTA after the meeting with a delegation of Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Pablo Tettamanti.
According to Vitaly Busko, the parties discussed the development of bilateral relations for the short-term, including parliamentary cooperation and the need of a full-fledged legal framework as a basis to create favorable conditions for cooperation. “We have already set up a working group on cooperation with the parliament of Argentina. Argentina has been completing the corresponding work to announce the composition of the group in the near future,” the MP said. “After that we will be able to plan our future meetings and talk about concrete steps at the parliamentary level of the two countries,” he added.
The parties also discussed the issue of visa-free trips for citizens. “Argentina has prepared the corresponding proposals and we believe they will be considered in the near future,” the MP stated.
The meeting also focused on the implementation of the potential of the Belarus-Argentina interregional cooperation. “We have discussed interregional cooperation after the signing of necessary documents, for instance, in agriculture, industry,” Vitaly Busko said.
As for cultural cooperation, foreign guests hailed the invitation to participate in the international festival of arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk.
According to Vitaly Busko, the parties expressed confidence in further development of fruitful cooperation both at the bilateral level and in the international arena. According to MP, cooperation will also be promoted by the activity of Belarus’ embassy in Argentina and the appointment of Argentina’s Ambassador to Belarus on concurrent.
