MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko attended the official opening of the new global headquarters of the international news channel Euronews in the French city of Lyon at the invitation of the company’s senior management, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
By October 2015, all Euronews staff have moved to the new building. The design is the work of Paris-based architects Dominique Jakob and Brendan MacFarlane.
Pavel Latushko was briefed about the activities of the channel. He was given a tour of the television studios and the rooms housing different services of the Euronews company.
Pavel Latushko also met with Head of Euronews in CIS countries Walid Harfouch, Managing Director of Commercial Sales & Marketing at Euronews Olivier de Montchenu, and International Sales Director at Euronews Pierre Stein.
The parties discussed the state and development prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the leading international news channel in Europe. They also talked over approaches to the coverage of political, economic, and cultural events happening in Belarus.
Special attention was paid to the possibility of provision of coverage of major cultural projects in Belarus and promotion of the country’s tourism potential by Euronews. Pavel Latushko also attended the presentation of Euronews’ new development strategy.
