MOSCOW, 9 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi took part in the 2nd ambassadorial round table on the settlement of the situation around Ukraine on 8 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
The event was also attended by Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and heads of 36 foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow.
“In his speech, the Russian foreign minister emphasized the stability of the national economy, despite 17,000 anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the countries of the collective West. Sergey Lavrov stressed Moscow's focus on compliance with international law and the UN Charter, strengthening the role of the SCO and BRICS organizations in the international arena. The Russian Federation considers it necessary to expand the permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to include countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America. In the economic sector, Russia is switching to settlements with its major trading partners in alternative currencies, which makes it possible to successfully resist the sanctions of the collective West,” the press service said.
“Belarus shares Russia’s main approaches in the international arena. Up-to-date information from the round table will be used in the work of the embassy,” the press service added.
