Belarus accedes to 11 SCO treaties

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) - Belarus has acceded to 11 international treaties within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The corresponding resolution No. 976 by the Council of Ministers of 29 December 2023 has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA has learned.

In particular, Belarus has acceded to the memorandum between the governments of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the main goals and areas of regional economic cooperation and the launch of the process of creating favorable conditions in trade and investment, signed in Almaty on 14 September 2001, and the protocol thereto, signed in Shanghai on 28 May 2002.

These are also the agreements on technical protection of information in the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, on cooperation in culture, agriculture, healthcare, media, the protection of cultural heritage sites, training and advanced training of customs officials and also science, technology and interbank personnel.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall send notifications on Belarus' accession to the international treaties within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
