MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – Secretary General of the Austria Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs Mr Michael Linhart will take part in a ceremony to open the Embassy of Austria in Belarus, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told journalists on 21 January, BelTA has learned.
Mr Michael Linhart will visit Minsk on 9-10 February. The diplomat is scheduled to meet with Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna. The parties will discuss topical issues of the Belarusian-Austrian relations, Minsk-Brussels interaction and regional security.
Austria's decision to raise the level of its diplomatic representation in Minsk was the logical continuation of a dynamic political dialogue between the two countries and is aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties in the areas of mutual interest such as trade and investment, science, education, culture, and tourism.
