Andreichenko: Kazakhstan is a brotherly nation, strategic partner and ally for Belarus

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is a brotherly nation, a strategic partner and an ally for Belarus, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yerlan Baizhanov, BelTA reports.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, Minsk attaches great importance to all dimensions of Belarus-Kazakhstan relations. Kazakhstan is a close, brotherly nation, a strategic partner and an ally for Belarus. The two countries have a common history, well-developed trade and close humanitarian ties. Due to friendly relations at the highest level, no topics are off-limits. It cannot be otherwise between allies.

“Literally in a couple of days, on 23 November, our presidents will meet in Minsk at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. Next year Kazakhstan will take over the CSTO presidency from us. We are on the same page on many international issues. And we expect constructive cooperation to continue at all international platforms,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

He emphasized that parliamentarians are also involved in promoting contacts across the board, from foreign policy to economy. “Our dialogue is taking place in an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding. We have established excellent contacts with Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov. In May 2023 he visited Minsk to participate in a CSTO PA Council meeting. During the bilateral meeting, we compared notes on Belarus-Kazakhstan relations. A number of pending issues were raised, in particular in logistics and transit transportation. These are areas of responsibility of our governments, but we also count on your support in resolving them promptly,” the parliament speaker said.

Vladimir Andreichenko also praised the fruitful and consistent work of interparliamentary friendship groups.
