MOSCOW, 17 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Russia Batyr Niyazliyev in Moscow on 17 November. The diplomats noted that the cooperation between Belarus and Turkmenistan has been developing rapidly, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA.
“The parties said that the political, trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Turkmenistan has been growing at a rapid pace. Igor Petrishenko and Batyr Niyazliyev also discussed the current state and prospects of the bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas of mutual interest,” the press service said.
The diplomatic relations between Belarus and Turkmenistan were established on 21 January 1993. In 2015, the bilateral trade totaled $93.6 million.
