MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) - The Allée of Friendship between Mongolia and Belarus was planted in Minsk for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, BelTA has learned.

Fifteen thujas were planted in Pavlov Park. The event was attended by Minsk First Vice Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Belarus Batsukh Bayarsaikhan and First Deputy Forestry Minister Aleksandr Dragun.

Nadezhda Lazarevich noted that the states have warm friendly relations. Minsk is interested in strengthening economic and cultural ties and sees great potential for the development of cooperation.

"This allée will become a symbol of our good relationship, a reminder of how important it is to be friends. Minsk citizens will be happy to come here with their families," Nadezhda Lazarevich believes.

For his part, Ambassador Batsukh Bayarsaikhan thanked the Belarusian side for supporting the embassy's initiative. The proposal to plant an allée in Minsk for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations was suggested during a meeting with the Minsk mayor. "This is our contribution to the fight against climate change," he said.

Earlier, in May 2022, the Allée of Friendship between Belarus and Mongolia was laid in the National Park in Ulaanbaatar. Sixty trees and shrubs were planted there.
