All CIS countries to send observers for parliamentary, local elections in Belarus

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The CECs of all CIS countries will take part in the international observation of the parliamentary and local elections in Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko told the media, BelTA has learned.

"The level of representation will vary," Igor Karpenko said. “I can say for sure that three CEC chairmen are going to be present, those of the CECs of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. There will also be the CEC deputy chairmen o, members, and employees of the CEC offices. They are part of various integration associations and represent observer missions of, for example, the CIS, the SCO and so on."

“The SCO mission will include several representatives of the Central Election Commission of Pakistan," the head of the CEC said. “Within the framework of the election campaign, we will have a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of the CEC of the CIS countries. We will sign a protocol of cooperation with the head of the CEC of Uzbekistan."
