MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik will lead the Belarusian delegation at the 2023 BRICS summit that will be held in Johannesburg, the Republic of South Africa, from 22 to 24 August, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoly Glaz told BelTA.
“We have a corresponding invitation, and our delegation is set to go there. We are totally on board with the key theme of the upcoming summit, which is “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism.” Belarus will take part in the events of this summit for the first time,” Anatoly Glaz noted.
He specified that Belarus will participate in the BRICS Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue that will be held in Johannesburg next week.
“On behalf of the head of state, our delegation will be led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik. The head of the Belarusian delegation will use this opportunity to met with colleagues from a number of other countries on the sidelines of the summit,” Anatoly Glaz noted.
