Service center for Belarusian vehicles to open in Ashgabat in 2015

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – A service center for Belarusian vehicles will be opened in Ashgabat in 2015, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he visited the Belarusian-Turkmen exhibition of goods at Chizhovka Arena on 9 October, BelTA has learned.

“We are building a service center for Belarusian vehicles in Ashgabat. It is a commercial project. The center will be commissioned in Q2 2015,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted. In his words, the initial plans included the construction of a MAZ service center. The final decision was taken to construct a compound facility. “The center will sell trucks, provide maintenance services and address issues related to the training of the personnel - drivers, mechanics, electricians that are in demand in your country,” the Premier said.

When asked on the supplies of Belarusian equipment to Turkmenistan, Mikhail Myasnikovich said that Belarus is set to deliver about 2,500 vehicles to Turkmenistan. “It is about 1,500 tractors (MTZ-82 and cotton models) and nearly 1,000 MAZ trucks. The parties are currently negotiating the price,” the head of government said.

According to the Premier, about 1,500 Belarusian vehicles have been supplied to Turkmenistan this year. Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that the Belarusian product is popular on the Turkmenistan market. “The President of Turkmenistan told me that farmers are reluctant to buy American and German tractors. They say they got used to Belarusian tractors. It is a reliable and easy to maintain vehicle,” the head of government said.
