Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast interested in Belarusian equipment for making microelectronics

Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast interested in Belarusian equipment for making microelectronics

MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Novosibirsk Oblast is interested in Belarusian equipment for manufacturing microelectronics. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement after meeting with Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Andrei Travnikov, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko remarked that the agenda of the meeting with representatives of Russian regions traditionally consists of two parts. “The first one is the development and expansion of traditional avenues of cooperation. The second one is new avenues, which have not been explored for some reason up till now or have not been discussed sufficiently thoroughly. We discussed the entire agenda during the meeting in detail. We had good trade figures last year. Very well-balanced flows. High-tech industry, microelectronics develop actively in Novosibirsk while Belarus focuses heavily on mechanical engineering. We complement each other very well in this regard,” he said.

Belarusian machines, vehicles, and equipment traditionally enjoy strong demand among partners from Novosibirsk Oblast. “We discussed bigger sales of passenger vehicles, municipal vehicles, trucks, and special vehicles to the Russian region. We also touched upon the matter of buying more components from Novosibirsk enterprises,” the prime minister explained.

According to Roman Golovchenko, microelectronics is a promising area of cooperation. “To explore the possibilities, we visited the enterprise Novosibirsk Semiconductor Devices Plant Vostok. There is a very high demand for Belarusian equipment for manufacturing microelectronics now. On the other hand, we look forward to the final realization of the R&D products, which are being developed in the Russian Federation. For instance, electronic parts and components for our R&D products. Today we’ve agreed that capabilities of Integral Company will also be fully used to increase the output capacity. There is a great demand for products made by Planar. Certainly, we will try to satisfy all the needs,” the Belarusian head of government stated.

Roman Golovchenko noted that Novosibirsk Oblast residents had shown a strong interest in a fair of Belarusian goods. “There is a big demand for light industry products and foods. We are now thinking about offering the entire range of Belarusian consumer goods via a retailer or a trading house. We are also on the lookout for ways to improve sales and aftersales service. The trading house MTZ-Siberia is an example of how we consolidate goods of our manufacturers in the territory of the region. Those are not only tractors but also trucks, for instance, MAZ vehicles. By the way, MAZ now actively makes grain carriers while Novosibirsk Oblast may be interested in such vehicles,” the official concluded.

A government delegation led by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko is on a working trip to Russia’s Novosibirsk District, Irkutsk Oblast, and Sverdlovsk Oblast on 26-28 April. Meetings with the governors of the oblasts are scheduled to take place as well as the handover of MTZ tractors to Novosibirsk Oblast and visits to a number of enterprises.
