MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - Morocco is interested in buying MAZ machinery, BelTA learned from the company's press service.

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) was visited by businessmen from the Kingdom of Morocco headed by Mohammed Amine Cherkaoui, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Water & Energy Solutions and MDSC Holding.

The visitors got familiar with the main assembly line and saw the MAZ machinery assembly process from the moment of frame installation to the vehicle rolling off the line. They were also shown a model range of cargo and passenger vehicles.

During the talks with MAZ Director General Valery Ivankovich, Mohammed Amine Cherkaoui praised the production level of Belarusian machinery, noting that it had important qualities for operation in African countries - simplicity of design and maintainability. He voiced deep interest not only in the supplies of these products to the Moroccan market, but also in setting up an assembly plant of MAZ machinery in Morocco.

Valery Ivankovich, in his turn, confirmed the plant’s readiness to implement future joint projects.

Minsk Automobile Plant is one of Belarus’ largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-3, 4, 5, and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and 3,000 modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
