MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) has delivered 10 battery-assisted trolleybuses to Ryazan, Russia, BelTA learned from the plant.

“Ten new battery-assisted MAZ trolleybuses have been shipped to Ryazan. The keys to the new vehicles were handed to the workers of the city trolleybus depot No.3 by Ryazan Oblast Governor Pavel Malkov. The new trolleybuses will make it possible to extend the routes to new areas of the city, where there is no overhead lines,” representatives of the plant said.

The new trolleybuses are equipped with the climate control system, electronic route markers, modern automatic audio informers for announcement of stops, video recording cameras, and automatic passenger traffic counters.

Minsk Automobile Plant is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-3, 4, 5, and 6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and 3,000 modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
