MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – As of 20 August, a total of 1,889.500 hectares, or 87%, of areas under crops have been harvested in Belarus so far. The harvest campaign has been completed in Brest Oblast (the yield is 36.7 centners per hectare), BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, BelTA has learned.
As of 20 August, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 6.779 million tonnes. Minsk Oblast harvested more than 1,691.500 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1,246.200 tonnes and Brest Oblast 1,224.500 tonnes. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 1,005,400 tonnes. Gomel Oblast cropped 947,000, Vitebsk Oblast – 664,100 tonnes.
This year, the average yield makes up 35.9 centners per hectare, with Grodno Oblast leading with 43.5 centners per hectare.
