VITEBSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Belwest plans to open about 60 chain stores in Russia in 2014, BelTA learnt from Director General of the company Yuri Sumaneyev.
According to him, in line with the company’s strategy aimed at opening new outlets, the geography of sales is not limited to the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation and goes up to Siberia and Far East. For instance, there are plans to open seven trading facilities in Irkutsk and two more in Yekaterinburg.
“Belwest footwear sales are wide. A big part of the lineup goes abroad, first of all to Russia. The company also sells to the EU countries,” Yuri Sumaneyev noted adding that in 2012 Belwest’s retail store chain comprised 284 stores in Belarus, Russia and Latvia. In 2013 the number of stores increased to 325. Of them 41 are in Belarus and seven more in Latvia.
The company’s sales network in Belarus has been vigorously developing. Thus, the company branched out to Soligorsk not long ago. A new trading facility will soon open its doors in Minsk. This year Belwest plans to open up to 5 chain stores in Belarus.
Belwest was founded in 1988. The company’s shareholders are Bellegprom (55%) and the Investment Industrial company Investprom, the Russian Federation (45%). The company’s annual output totals 2 million of pairs of footwear.
