MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) hopes to attract suppliers from Pakistan to its import substitution platform, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

BUCE plans to expand the geography of manufacturers of import-substituting products by attracting Pakistani companies interested in starting a trading or manufacturing business in Belarus. As part of this work the BUCE central office hosted a meeting with Imran Chawla from Afil Industries, which was organized with the assistance of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization. Afil Industries is mulling over an investment food production project in Belarus. It also intends to launch wholesale deliveries of Pakistani to Belarus.

According to Imran Chawla, BUCE's trading platform can significantly simplify his company's activities in Belarus by providing access to large local consumers. "In addition to setting up a production facility in Belarus, we would like to set up a trade business here. If we talk about specific goods, these are various types of rice, which is the hallmark of Pakistan and leather goods for the sports industry: soccer balls, gloves, belts and so on. We are also ready to supply your country with such a specific product as Himalayan salt. Our company has extensive experience in export, and when entering a new market, we always choose the shortest route with least risks. We hope that with the help of the commodity exchange we will be able to find buyers and build an effective sales system," the Pakistani businessman said.

Head of Foreign Relations at BUCE Aleksandr Bashliy noted that BUCE is ready to support the Pakistani company at all stages of its work on the commodity exchange and proposed to consider getting accredited as a broker. "If necessary, we will assign you a personal manager who will advise you on all issues of participation in exchange trading. We use this mechanism in work with Chinese companies, accompanying them from the moment of obtaining an electronic digital signature to the conclusion of the first transaction. When a foreign participant accumulates a certain experience in exchange trading, we offer him to go to the next level and get the status of a broker. I think that brokerage can become no less promising area of business for your company than just trading," Aleksandr Bashliy said.
