MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Belarusian and Chinese experts are working to develop recommendations to step up the trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, Sergei Rakhmanov, Chairman of the International Affairs and National Security Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, told reporters on 6 May, BelTA has learned.
Minsk is hosting a roundtable event that has brought together diplomats, representatives of ministries and agencies, and MPs. The participants are considering steps to advance the implementation of the joint economic projects, improve the conditions for doing business, and attract direct foreign investment.
The event is held in the run-up to the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to China. The Belarusian leader is scheduled to meet with China President Xi Jinping.
Sergei Rakhmanov emphasized that Belarus and China maintain relations of friendship and trust that allow for direct and open discussion of all the issues that arise.
