MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped over 6 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 17 August, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 6 million tonnes. Brest Oblast harvested 1,194.8 tonnes, Minsk Oblast – 1,483.7 tonnes. Gomel Oblast and Grodno Oblast cropped 869,700 and 1,078.8 tonnes each. The harvest of Mogilev Oblast reached 840,200 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 544,300 tonnes.
A total of 1,669,100 hectares, or 76.9%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. As of today, Brest Oblast remains the leader: the region has cropped 97.2% of the total area.
This year, the average yield makes up 36 centners per hectare.
