MINSK, 12 May (BelTA) - Belarusian Cement Company has increased cement shipments to Russia by almost 4 times, BelTA learned from Belarusian Cement Company (BCC).

"BCC has been progressively increasing the supply of cement to the Russian market, fully compensating for the lost exports to the European Union. In April 2023, the company hut another milestone by shipping more than 231,000 tonnes of cement to Russia. It was 3.8 times more than in 2019 and 2.3 times more than in April 2022," the company said.

The company also noted that exports have already exceeded the figures of previous years, although due to the new geopolitical situation, the markets of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine have been closed to Belarusian producers. "In the most successful year of 2021, the April cement exports were estimated at 193,000 tonnes, which was 38,000 tonnes less than in April of 2023, when BCC shifted its focus on the Russian market," the BCC explained.

The company aims to meet the indicators of the 2023 forecast supply and demand balance of the Union State which was agreed by Belarus and Russia.
